bead table wednesday: polymer pendants

April 27, 2011 § 3 Comments

After experimenting with polymer clay for the Art Bead Scene Challenge, I thought I would have a go with trying to make something a bit simpler and chunkier. I only bought red and orange polymer clay (as those were the themed colours!) and so, naturally, ended up making some hearts!

As you can see above, I also did some experimenting with some old printing stamps I had – this one is an anatomical drawing of a skeleton. I varnished just inside the stamping, and the details have come out quite well, but I think it’s too small to really make an impact. Hunting around for some more old printing blocks will be fun, and I might try to make my own too. Next step is to get some different colours of clay so I can try and do some stripy, spotty and layered beads and pendants!
